نگارخانه‌ی شمیده فعالیت خود را از سال ۱۳۹۶ با هدف پرداختن به جریان هنر معاصر و حمایت از استعدادهای جوان و رو به رشد در زمینه‌ی هنرهای تجسمی و با رویکردی بینارشته‌ای آغاز کرد.
گالری شمیده از بدو تأسیس برگزار کننده‌ی نمایشگاه‌های انفرادی و گروهی به صورت منظم بوده است و در عملکرد خود چندین نکته را مد نظر قرار داده است:
* استقبال از هنر ایده محور و مفهومی
* تمرکز بیشتر بر رسانه‌های جدید همچون عکاسی، ویدئوآرت و غیره
* ایجاد فضایی مناسب برای حمایت از فعالیت مستمر هنرمندان
پ.ن: شمیده به معنای آشفته، مدهوش، پریشان و سرگشته
